John B. Hunter, CPA, Partner
After graduating from HSU in 1977, John went to work with his father Paul E. Hunter. In 1983, he became a partner of the accounting firm Hunter & Hunter. In 1988 he was joined by partners James Hunter and Scott Hunt and formed the accounting firm Hunter, Hunter & Hunt. John has extensive experience in personal income tax and small business. His off-the-job interests include fly fishing, basketball and watching sports events.

Scott E. Hunt, CPA/ABV, Partner
Scott is one of the founding partners of our firm. He consults with business and individual clients in the areas of tax and estate planning. He has a wide range of accounting experience which enables him to provide relevant and timely advice and assistance to business owners with their internal accounting, periodic reporting, forecasting and ultimately the development and implementation of succession plans. His experience in business valuation helps him guide business owners to an understanding of how the decisions they make today impact the value of their business.

Donna joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in 1994 and has been a partner since 2001. Donna takes a leading role in the firm’s audit services, performs accounting services and does some tax return preparation. She has an active role in the firm’s management and oversees quality control.

Kim Windsor, CPA/ABV, Principal
Kim is a principal at Hunter, Hunter and Hunt. She has been with the firm since November 2000. Kim is an audit manager with experience in for-profit businesses, non-profit entities and special districts. As well as being a CPA, Kim is Accredited in Business Valuation.

Kim is a native of California. She has lived in the Bay Area and central California including the Sierra foothills. She enjoys traveling; however, her favorite place is here in Humboldt County where she enjoys gardening, hiking, motorcycle riding, and living amongst the finest of neighbors and friends in this most easy going of California communities.

Auditing and Accounting Senior Manager

Patrick joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in July of 2011. He has over eleven years of public accounting and audit experience serving a variety of clients and industries, and has consistently demonstrated high commitment to client service and technical excellence. Patrick is originally from Eureka. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP and worked in San Francisco and Seattle. He has returned to Humboldt County to spend more time with his family. Patrick’s interests include playing basketball, hiking, and seeing his son play with his friends and cousins.

Melissa Ward, Bookkeeper
Melissa joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in October, 1988. Melissa is a bookkeeper for the firm and has 30 years experience in the bookkeeping field. Melissa is a native of Humboldt County. Having lived in Redmond, Washington for 3 years she returned to Humboldt where she accepted employment from Paul & John Hunter (Hunter & Hunter), in July of 1988. Melissa enjoys family outings, including sporting events, baking, gardening and camping.

Beverly Jones, Director of First Impressions
Bev joined our firm in May 2002. Her position involves keeping our office running smoothly. She is generally the voice you hear when calling Hunter, Hunter & Hunt. Her personal interests include swimming, Giants baseball (oops), singing and traveling to Hawaii.

Bev worked at Bank of America for 36 years and was involved in all areas of the bank, including several management positions. She retired from Arcata Bank of America as a VP/Assistant Manager in 1999.

Amanda L. Beam, Managing Partner's Administrative Assistant
Amanda moved to Humboldt County in 2002 from Sacramento, CA. Her interests include family activities, reading and continuing education. She joined the Hunter, Hunter and Hunt team in November of 2008 as a bookkeeper.

Professional Background:
Amanda came to our firm from Humboldt Merchant Services, a local acquiring bank specializing in bank card processing. Working at Humboldt Merchant Services for over 5 years she held a variety of positions that strengthened her industry skills including Customer Service Representative, Support Specialist, Customer Service Lead, Technical Support Agent and Sales Relations Coordinator. Amanda says, "I know my extensive background in the bankcard industry will prove to be of value to our firm and clients. I look forward to continuing my tradition of excellent customer service to Hunter, Hunter & Hunt and our clients."

Ashliegh Diehl, Accounting Associate
Ashliegh joined Hunter, Hunter, and Hunt in August 2011. She has over six years of experience working in public accounting. While attending HSU, Ashliegh worked locally, focusing on individual taxation until 2010. She moved to San Luis Obispo to further her education. While attending graduate school, Ashliegh focused on specializing in corporate and partnership taxation. Her internship at Caliber Accounting and Tax, LLP in Pismo Beach helped build her knowledge with hands-on experience. She returned to Fortuna in summer of 2011 to be closer to her family after completing school. Ashliegh is currently preparing for the CPA exam. During her spare time she enjoys attending concerts, musicals, and baseball games.

Tenaya F. Banko, Bookkeeper
Tenaya’s experience in accounting began when she went to work for a large piano company in Southern California just out of high school; it was there that she discovered her love of numbers and accounting. She has worked in the accounting field most of her professional career. Tenaya moved to Del Norte County in 1987, and worked in the timber industry as an account clerk until the last redwood mill in the county closed. In 2001 Tenaya moved to Humboldt County. She joined our firm in August of 2011. Her hobbies include scrapbooking; her interests include ballet and wildlife; and she is a waterfowl enthusiast. She and her husband have two dogs, an English Springer Spaniel and an English Cocker Spaniel, the love of their lives.

Tamara O’Brien – Director of First Impressions
Tamara joined our firm in September 2011. She moved here from Chicago in June 2011 to be near her family and enjoy the beauty of Humboldt County. Tamara has over 20 years experience in the customer service field.  She has managed and consulted in the medical answering service industry for 15 years which gave her the opportunity to enjoy living in many different states including Colorado, and Hawaii to name a few. Tamara enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, old movies and spending time with her family. For the past seven years Tamara worked at a premier outpatient radiology facility in Chicago as the General Assistant of the center as well as the personal assistant to the Medical and Executive Directors.
