John B. Hunter, CPA, Partner
After graduating from HSU in 1977, John went to work with his father Paul E. Hunter. In 1983, he became a partner of the accounting firm Hunter & Hunter. In 1988 he was joined by partners James Hunter and Scott Hunt and formed the accounting firm Hunter, Hunter & Hunt. John has extensive experience in personal income tax and small business. His off-the-job interests include fly fishing, basketball and watching sports events.

Scott E. Hunt, CPA/ABV, Partner
Scott is one of the founding partners of our firm. He consults with business and individual clients in the areas of tax and estate planning. He has a wide range of accounting experience which enables him to provide relevant and timely advice and assistance to business owners with their internal accounting, periodic reporting, forecasting and ultimately the development and implementation of succession plans. His experience in business valuation helps him guide business owners to an understanding of how the decisions they make today impact the value of their business.

Donna L. Taylor, CPA, CFE, Partner
Donna joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in 1994 and has been a partner since 2001. Donna takes a leading role in the firm’s audit services, performs accounting services and does some tax return preparation. She has an active role in the firm’s management and oversees quality control.

Eileen Sacra Capaccio, CPA, Principal
Eileen joined our firm in 2006. She is a Principal of the firm, prepares individual, corporate and partnership tax returns and manages audits of nonprofit entities. Additionally, Eileen is a part-time lecturer in the Business Department of Humboldt State University.

Jeffrey M. Wissman, CPA, Principal
Jeff started his career with Haskins & Sells, CPAs a "Big 8" international accounting firm in Los Angeles, CA. Drawn to the natural beauty of the CA north coast, he relocated in 1972 and commenced his local career in providing tax and accounting services for individuals, businesses and fiduciaries. He joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in July of 2013. His interests include golf, travel and watching sports events.

Jennifer Hillegeist, CPA, Staff Accountant
Jennifer moved to Humboldt County in 1975 from Southern California. She has worked in public accounting since 1980 and joined our firm in 2006. Jennifer works primarily in tax preparation for individuals and business entities.

Jeff L. Trump, CPA
Jeff was born and raised in Arcata. He joined the firm in 2014, after returning to Humboldt County to spend more time with his family. He has twenty four years of experience in public accounting, practicing predominately in the fields of business and individual taxation, planning, and attestation services. In his personal life, Jeff enjoys outdoor activities, home improvement projects, watching sporting events, and catching up with old friends.

Ashliegh Diehl, EA, Principal
Ashliegh joined the firm in August of 2011 and has been working in accounting since 2006. She is a Humboldt County native and was drawn back to the area after obtaining her master’s degree due to the area’s beauty. Ashliegh continues to further her knowledge by preparing for the CPA exam. When she is not busy studying or volunteering her time, Ashliegh spends her time attending concerts, traveling, hiking, and enjoying the company of her family and friends.

Diane Lonn, Bookkeeping Services Coordinator
Diane was born and raised in Arcata and has a love of the ocean and the beautiful beaches that make Humboldt County such a special place to live. She joined the firm in December 2013 as temporary tax season help, and has since transitioned into a full-time team member. Her background includes working in banking industry, an accounting office and most recently, she was the Customer Service Manager at the HSU Bookstore, Humboldt State University. When Diane is not reading, she loves to spend time with her family and friends.

 

Tenaya F. Banko, Bookkeeper
Tenaya’s experience in accounting began when she went to work for a large piano company in Southern California just out of high school; it was there that she discovered her love of numbers and accounting. She has worked in the accounting field most of her professional career. Tenaya moved to Del Norte County in 1987, and worked in the timber industry as an account clerk until the last redwood mill in the county closed. In 2001 Tenaya moved to Humboldt County. She joined our firm in August of 2011. Her hobbies include scrapbooking; her interests include ballet and wildlife; and she is a waterfowl enthusiast. She and her husband have two dogs, an English Springer Spaniel and an English Cocker Spaniel, the love of their lives.


Education:
Graduated High School.
Associate of Arts Technical Preparation, Business from College of the Redwoods. She graduated with honors as Salutatorian.

Community Involvement:
Donor and member of California Waterfowl Association.

Jason Caria, Accounting Associate
Jason began working at Hunter, Hunter & Hunt, LLP in January 2014, shortly after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Humboldt State University. He rejoined the team in August of 2014 after spending a summer with his then fiancée in Japan. Jason enjoys many different outdoor activities, such as but not limited to biking, hiking, camping and fishing. In addition, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys following many of the local sports teams.

Melissa Ward, Bookkeeper
Melissa joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in October, 1988. Melissa is a bookkeeper for the firm and has 30 years experience in the bookkeeping field. Melissa is a native of Humboldt County. Having lived in Redmond, Washington for 3 years she returned to Humboldt where she accepted employment from Paul & John Hunter (Hunter & Hunter), in July of 1988. Melissa enjoys family outings, including sporting events, baking, gardening and camping.

Roberta Duggan, Director of Operations
Roberta joined the firm in September 2013 as the Front Office Manager and has served as Director of Operations since May 2016. She brings over twenty years of management experience and a passion for customer service. Before joining HHH, she was a manager at the HSU Bookstore at Humboldt State University. Roberta’s personal interests include reading, baking, singing, playing the flute, hiking and baseball.

 

Susan Moranda, EA, Principal

A Humboldt County native, Susan graduated from Eureka High School and attended College of the Redwoods and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She began her career as a bookkeeper in public accounting with Hunter, Hunter and Hunt in 2006, after 18 years in the private industry sector. In 2012, Susan completed the requirements to attain Enrolled Agent status with the Internal Revenue Service. She is also a Quickbooks Pro Advisor, proficient in Xero, and has extensive experience with payroll and sales tax issues.

Past President and current Treasurer of Humboldt County Cattlewomen, Susan enjoys participating in their numerous community events.

In her free time, Susan likes to garden, read, and hike with her dogs.

 

Edward A. Weaver, Jr., Accounting Associate
Edward joined Hunter, Hunter and Hunt, LLP in January, 2017. Born and raised on the North Coast, he has spent the seven years developing his craft primarily in Sacramento and the Bay Area. In 2013, Edward graduated Highest Honors from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accountancy. Edward began his career in accounting at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP which allowed for accelerated learning and exposure to the operations and accounting intricacies of a variety of small and large businesses all over the country. Edward returned to the Eureka area to be closer to his family and to live in the place that he loves. He is looking forward to reduced traffic, more time in nature, and all of the unique things that make this one of the best places in the whole country to live.

Kristi Skelton, Front Office Manager
Kristi joined the Hunter, Hunter & Hunt admin team in January of 2018 and has since transitioned into the role of Front Office Manager. Her background consists of 14 years of management & customer service. Kristi was born in Eureka, CA., but she spent most of her youth in various states across the country while her father was in the United States Coast Guard. She loves being back in Humboldt County to enjoy all of its beauty and charm. In her off time, Kristi enjoys spending time with her two poodles, Littlefoot & Charlie, going to the beach, dancing, & collecting comic book memorabilia focused on lead female roles.

 

Rebecca Lewis, Bookkeeper
Rebecca joined the firm in 2018 after holding various office roles including data processing and assistance with a Eureka City Schools grant program. Her most recent position was in HR. She was a full charge bookkeeper for a local family-owned business before dedicating several years to raise her own family. She is happy to return to bookkeeping because she finds it an enjoyable and rewarding occupation.
Rebecca is a California native and has been a Humboldt resident since 1995. She appreciates the natural beauty of the area and spending time in the forests and at the beaches. She enjoys many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, hiking, cycling, and camping.

 

Chad Hilgenberg, Accounting Associate
Chad joined our firm in the summer of 2018. After graduating with a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2007, Chad went to work as a public accountant in Minneapolis, MN. After several years, Chad entered the world of craft brewing to work as a brew master, which he did for seven years. Doing so allowed him to relocate to a few different parts of the country, finally landing with his wife Molly (and their two dogs) in Humboldt County at the beginning of 2018. Outside of the office, Chad enjoys building projects, time in the forest and playing the banjo.

 

Tom Souza, Accounting Associate
Thomas joined Hunter, Hunter & Hunt in February of 2018. Thomas was born and raised in Humboldt County, where he attended Arcata High School and Humboldt State University. In 2016 Thomas graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accountancy. To stay on track to become a CPA, Thomas went back to Humboldt State and got his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in July of 2017. Thomas passed the CPA exam in April of 2018 and is on track to become a licensed CPA in 2019. In his spare time outside of work he loves to play and watch all sports.
